Wow, DoctorNick, you almost intuitive with that post! Okay, so what else is Gmail?
on Nov 05, 2005
Okay, so all I did is MSN search for "gmail" and I can sign up for the beta. So I don't see what all the fuss is about having this cell phone code number. I don't see the greatness of "moving" my email to gmail, except for more space.

It's POP enabled and absolutely free.

Nice one...They do track your mail to see what you surf ....But the best thing i like is the file size allowed for swap.

Think about it..

I've had Gmail for awhile now. I don't see what the big deal is. I trust my ISP email and MSN email better than Gmail.

Whereas GMAIL still may have some trust factors, it is Free and it is BETA. Keep the BETA thing in mind. It's just an idea.

I do have about 300 invites to send out for those who would like to experiment with having an account with them.

It's essentially Spam...and not dissimilar to Pyramid...except for the fact they don't even promise you anything when you do their promotion for them....

It's a shitty PR deal that compromises your intellectual 'property'.

But, it's really spam free. The spam guard works exceptionally well. None other than G-mail will provide you a free POP account with such spam guard. I've accounts at fastmail (Outlook supported), yahoo, msn (Outlook supported), operamail, dataone (my ISP provider). But, I'm really satisfied with my G-mail. It's really fast and well-maintained. As under Beta they aren't promising you the security of your account. But, it's evident that they are trying their best to provide you a secure account.

Secure? By scanning your email? Yeah right.

Don't find any security problem so far.

Source please. Can’t understand what you said.

Once you delete a message, it's gone for good.

If you really need to delete a message, you can do so at any time. Here's how:

  1. First, move the message to 'Trash.' (You can still search for and retrieve messages in 'Trash.')
Open a conversation. → Click 'Show options.' → Click 'Trash this message.'

  2. Then, select 'Delete Forever.' (You won't be able to recover a message after completing this step.)
Click 'Trash' along the left side of any Gmail page. → Select the message. → Click 'Delete Forever.'

Nope. Google saves everything even after you delete it. And thanks for the email lesson but I know how to use Gmail. Thanks.

I believe the key word is you.
